As part of Plan A’s commitment to accelerating the transition of our economy to a sustainable, decarbonised, future we developed a new intelligent tool called Gaia. It is meant to help either sustainability teams with large experience on the matter, or smaller teams in charge of carbon reporting and management, or even anyone with a curious mind and high expectations from their peers,their management, boards or themselves.
Sustainability is in constant evolution evolving and proves to be, sometimes, scientifically complex to navigate. Gaia will assist and accelerate your sustainability efforts, from understanding the latest regulatory requirements for your company to helping you create templates for your decarbonisation plan.
What Gaia does (and what it does not)
In a nutshell, Gaia is a free AI-powered sustainability chatbot designed to simplify your sustainability journey. You can use it in a natural language to assist you with all your questions on sustainability.
Gaia leverages the accumulated expertise of our company in corporate decarbonisation and internationally recognised organisations such as the GHG Protocol. It does not, however, talk about anything else than sustainability.
In other words, Gaia answers your sustainability and carbon management questions, using validated sources and will systematically curate resources to help you expand and learn about the latest developments related to your query.
For our customers, there is also a premium version of Gaia, called Gaia Pro. While Gaia is accessible to everyone, Gaia Pro is exclusively accessible to Plan A customers to assist with their sustainability strategy leveraging their own data. Types of things you can ask Gaia

- Like other AI, Gaia can assist you in creating plans, tools and tables according to your needs. Ask questions with your natural language, or prompt the same way you query Chat GPT.
- Knowledge queries:
- Questions about carbon footprint calculation methods.
- Inquiries on emission reduction strategies and best practices.
- Clarifications on sustainability regulations and standards.
- Guidance on ESG reporting requirements.
- Concrete action queries:
- Information about Plan A's products and services, including Plan A-Intelligence, the AI- enhanced suite of features like Gaia Pro or AI insights, anomaly detection as well as new features like Supply Chain + for a more granular view on your Scope 3 emissions and the ROI of decarbonisation module for scenario modelling

Gaia usage guidelines:
- Stay on topic: Gaia is only optimised for sustainability and carbon management topics. It will not provide answers to queries outside these areas.
- Gaia is free up to a certain amount of messages: 10 per minute, 50 per day. After 5 free messages, you will be asked to share your email to be able to continue using the tool
- Verify critical information: While Gaia strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information, we recommend verifying important details independently. Gaia, like all LLMs, can make mistakes. Please verify and cross-check critical information.
- Prohibited content will result in a ban: Gaia is not intended to use for any illegal activities or harmful, abusive, or offensive content.
- Use mindfully: Each interaction with Gaia consumes energy. We encourage you to use the chatbot thoughtfully, considering the environmental impact.
Environmental impact of using Generative AI
and tips to act more responsibly
As a leader in providing science-based decarbonisation solutions, we believe in responsible innovation. Here are a few reminders:
- Energy consumption: All AI models require computational power for training, learning, and day-to-day usage including energy and water to power and keep data centres cool. Gaia has been created with the intention to limit the resource costs of your queries, therefore we are continuously improving our model efficacy to reduce overall environmental impact. - Important tips for responsible prompting:We recommend you to be as explicit as possible in the query rather than asking multiple questions consecutively. Whilst the design of LLMs will vary and some complex queries may take more time, this should in theory reduce some of the energy consumption by reducing the absolute number of queries.
- Internal AI-usage policy: We have developed a company-wide AI usage policy to guide our teams on when it is most sensible to use AI. We recommend doing something similar on your own to save AI for critical questions.

Sustainability Chatbot does not provide professional advice. Content shared through this Chatbot should not be treated as such advice, and you should consult a qualified professional for any specific concerns.
5. Privacy and Data Usage
By using the Sustainability ChatBotchatbot, you consent to the collection and processing of certain information (including, but not limited to,e.g., your interactions, queries, and feedback).
After five messages, the ChatBot will request your email address. By providing your email address, you consent to the collection and processing of this data in accordance with Plan A’s Privacy Policy.
6. Limitation of Liability
Sustainability Chatbot and Plan A are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that result from using or being unable to use the Chatbot, including errors or omissions in the content provided.
